Josh and Leah Eureka Springs Engagement Photographer

Thorncrown Chapel is an amazing, award winning example of architecture to say the least. Over the years it has become a special place for hundreds and hundreds of people.  Last friday night, it got to be special all over again. The Chapel has become a popular place for weddings over the years so why not propose marriage there? Probably just what Josh Logan had in mind when he chose it to be the perfect location to pop the question to his one and only, Leah. He worked out a plan to surprise Leah, making her believe that they were taking the trip to Eureka Springs for the weekend to meet his mother so that Leah and his mom could go shopping together.  Little did she know that he had rented Thorncrown Chapel for the evening and hired me to be there to capture the event.  I was there when they arrived, just another tourist out on the walkway taking pictures of that lovely glass church (photo above). I could hear them walking up behind me and I stopped to say hi. Josh, being the gentleman that he is, asked if it was OK if they walked by me and I obliged.  They walked on into the chapel and talked for a little while… I followed snapping pics of the inside, and then he got down on one knee and  said ” All this from one man’s vision, through hard work to reality, to a timeless breath taking design.  If we lay the right foundation, pay attention to the details, we can design and build a life together as breathtaking as this church. There is no other person on this earth I would rather build a life with than you. Leah Bach will you give me the honor, be my building partner, and marry me?

Of course, she said ” yes”.  Then we told her that his mother wasn’t coming after all…. : )

Congratulations Josh and Leah!

Sheila and Jason

I had a feeling when I spoke with Sheila on the phone a few days before her wedding that she had to be a beautiful woman.  She told me that her daughter and husband (to be) always photographed well, but she often did not.  That told me that she cares a great deal about how she looks and these images are certainly proof that she does.  It was a beautiful weather day after a streak of really cold days. The lighting was perfect, my subjects look fantastic and it all added up to a beautiful wedding. Clearly, happiness abounds. Congratulations Sheila and Jason (and Audrey!). You make a lovely family.

Desiree and James Northwest Arkansas Wedding Photographer

I received a last minute call to come and photograph a wedding a few weeks ago. Desiree and James were on their way to Eureka Springs to be married and although their wedding had been well planned out, there was a problem regarding their photographer. Desiree called me and I was happy that I was available to be there. What a happy, fun couple they are and it was a great pleasure for me to be there and photograph the event. Lighting was challenging, but I love a challenge and I am so happy with the result.   Music for the ceremony and reception was provided by Larry and Rachel of Brick Fields Music.

Jennifer and Timothy (Eureka Springs Wedding Photographer)

Jennifer and Timothy chose to exchange their vows on New Years Eve 2012.  We were joined by their parents and three sweet dogs for a photo session at the historic Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Afterward we traveled out to Thorncrown Chapel for their intimate ceremony. The weather was cold and wet so we were unable to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor surroundings for very many photographs, but were able to make do with the lovely interior settings of both the hotel and the chapel.

Jennifer’s dress, hair and makeup were simply stunning… and those shoes, wow. Timothy looked equally fantastic in his tux, but the joy on their faces was the finest thing they wore. Even the dogs dressed up for the event.   This couple will undoubtedly share many happy years together.  Thank you, Jen and Timothy for inviting me to share in this special occasion.
