Thorncrown Chapel is an amazing, award winning example of architecture to say the least. Over the years it has become a special place for hundreds and hundreds of people. Last friday night, it got to be special all over again. The Chapel has become a popular place for weddings over the years so why not propose marriage there? Probably just what Josh Logan had in mind when he chose it to be the perfect location to pop the question to his one and only, Leah. He worked out a plan to surprise Leah, making her believe that they were taking the trip to Eureka Springs for the weekend to meet his mother so that Leah and his mom could go shopping together. Little did she know that he had rented Thorncrown Chapel for the evening and hired me to be there to capture the event. I was there when they arrived, just another tourist out on the walkway taking pictures of that lovely glass church (photo above). I could hear them walking up behind me and I stopped to say hi. Josh, being the gentleman that he is, asked if it was OK if they walked by me and I obliged. They walked on into the chapel and talked for a little while… I followed snapping pics of the inside, and then he got down on one knee and said ” All this from one man’s vision, through hard work to reality, to a timeless breath taking design. If we lay the right foundation, pay attention to the details, we can design and build a life together as breathtaking as this church. There is no other person on this earth I would rather build a life with than you. Leah Bach will you give me the honor, be my building partner, and marry me?
Of course, she said ” yes”. Then we told her that his mother wasn’t coming after all…. : )
Congratulations Josh and Leah!
